An exciting opportunity has arisen as CFD Engineer (Computational Fluid Dynamics) in Hydrodynamics, part of our Kongsberg Hydrodynamic Research Centre at Kongsberg Maritime in Kristinehamn. In this position, you will use high-end CFD methodologies and tools to support propulsion products and provide company internal consultancy services within hydrodynamics. You will perform numerical simulations and analysis related to various ship hydrodynamic aspects, this to improve design and performance to lower energy consumption and maximize efficiency to our customer’s needs.
As CFD Engineer you will have the opportunity to be part of a team of skilled engineers and collaborate with external research bodies, which are in the forefront of development in the fields of propulsion and manoeuvring hydrodynamics. Key accountabilities
Numerical and geometric modelling and simulations
Technical analysis and problem solving
Development and research projects
Support in Sales and Aftermarket upgrading projects
Reporting and presentations of your work for internal and external customers

Qualifications and experience
M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in engineering and experience, in preferable Naval Architecture, Marine Hydrodynamics, Technical Physics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent
Understanding of hydrodynamic principles
Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics
High level of English, both written and oral
