About Chalmers e-Commons
Chalmers e-Commons is a university-wide initiative to further empower researchers and innovators at Chalmers by providing access to e-infrastructure resources, support and expertise in collaborative projects for the full range of digital aspects of research.

A core function of Chalmers e-Commons is to provide and facilitate access to a span of local, national and international e-infrastructure resources. Here, Chalmers e-Commons hosts an e-infrastructure team, a group of computer system experts, developing, building and managing local and national resources for large-scale computing and data storage and providing user support. Chalmers e-Common is the Chalmers partner in national digital infrastructures such as SNIC and SND as well as in European initiatives like EOSC, and also facilitates access to grand-scale computing resources e.g. in EuroHPC. As an example of a national commitment, Chalmers e-Commons hosts the new national large-scale computing and data storage resource Alvis, providing Swedish research using AI and Machine Learning with an easy-to-use platform for large-scale models.

Complementing the e-infrastructure resources and support, Chalmers e-Commons also provides an expert hub and integrated entry point for researchers and innovators by a comprising a vibrant community of Digital Research Engineers, collaborating with researchers, research initiatives and research infrastructures to advance research and innovation in all areas.

To implement e-Commons strategic goals, the existing expertise within the e-infrastructure team needs to be expanded and complemented. In a concerted actions, we are now hiring two Systems Administrators, one of which with a focus on leading the daily work in the team and/or collaborating closely with national or international research infrastructures, e.g. SKA.

At Chalmers e-Commons, you will be part of a digital research infrastructure team with diverse backgrounds and fields of expertise, sharing the mission of building and developing a novel integrated hub for enabling digitalised research and innovation and empowering researchers and innovators at Chalmers and giving them a competitive advantage.
