We are on an exciting journey within Volvo Group Digital & IT. Digital Delivery is a new function within the Volvo Group Digital & IT that aims to identify and execute on new digital initiatives and modernize existing solutions across the Volvo Group brands. With a new product-centric operating model and modern technology architecture we create digital products that are profitable, scalable and differentiated. We use a cross functional approach to work on product design and deliveries that improves business performance and creates value for the entire Volvo Group. Here you will lead a team of software engineers who learn continuously and embrace change to stay ahead.
What you will do
As the Chapter Area Lead .NET you will play an important part in contributing to successfully establishing the .NET engineering Chapter and leading this domain. You will support the Head of .NET Chapter to define the global strategy for all .NET engineers in Digital Delivery. You will also develop and execute a competence strategy for your domain together with the Head of .NET and the Chapter Leads in your team.
As a leader you inspire and challenge people to be the best they can be. You are passionate about creating the right environment to enable your chapter members to develop competencies and skills. You are a driving force in the continued digital shift and use experiences, feedback and best practices to constantly evolve and improve. You share your technical knowledge within the chapter and across the Volvo Group and actively stay updated on innovations and trends – fostering an outside-in perspective.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Head of .NET to develop and execute global .NET strategy
- Support the Head of .NET to develop and execute global competence strategy for .NET Chapters
- Manage capacity planning, ensuring short and long-term competence and capacity of the .NET software engineers
- Lead, support and develop the team of .NET Chapter Leads
- Secure external input and best practice sharing in the community
- Secure agile ways of working
You will be part of the .NET Chapter Leadership Team and report to the Head of .NET Chapter. Your team consists of multiple .NET Chapter Leads with several teams of .NET engineers.
Who are you?
You are a passionate, professional and progressive leader with eyes on the horizon and feet on the ground. You bring several years of leadership experience in the software development industry and have a high level of expertise in the .NET environment. You enjoy building and motivating high performing teams and actively participating in strategy and execution. You create commitment around shared visions and objectives and act as a role model for your team as we develop the .NET domain and community globally.
You have a relevant university degree or similar and an excellent proficiency in English. Networking in a global multi-cultural organization across all the Volvo Group brands comes naturally. You have the courage to challenge and take evaluated risks when necessary and you find energy in working in a changing environment as you contribute to driving the global shift in the transport and infrastructure industry.
Location of position
This job position can be located anywhere, with a preferred location in Bangalore (India), Wroclaw (Poland), Gothenburg (Sweden), Curitiba (Brazil), Tianjin (China), Greensboro (USA) and Lyon (France). If you are based in another location, but your skills are a good fit, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. Relocation support can be provided if needed.
