This will be us - your new colleagues within Data Analysts chapter
Data is a new function within Group IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and consumed through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.
We collaborate with other parts of the organization, both in Group IT, with Truck Division, Business Areas, and Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together.
In our data chapters we are focusing on building our skills and developing our people in the data related skills needed to excel in transforming data into value for our business. This is how you could make an impact
As a chapter area lead you will act as:
Data Analyst domain expert:
Key contributor to a squad team and work on functional/technical deliverables and contribute towards the common business challenges.
Share knowledge within the group and actively stay updated on innovations and trends within the area.
Skilled network builder (internally/externally) and cross functional collaboration is crucial and natural.
A line manager for Data Analyst chapter members:
Passionate about creating the right environment for chapter members to develop competencies and skills.
Eager to coach people and develop the chapter expertise level by upskilling and recruitment new team members.
Act as a role model and lead your group by example, towards the new ways of working, sharing best practices, tools and methods.
You will be a part of the Data Analyst Chapter management team and report to the Head of Chapter Data Analyst. These will be some selected responsibilities:
Build & develop competence including attract and develop talents
Build a Data Analyst competence community and enable knowledge sharing across domains
Work as a Data Analyst practitioner
Develop the working methods for Data Analysts
Secure "external" input and best practice sharing in the community
Manage capacity planning and new requests for Data Analysts
Who are you?
We believe you want to take your career to the next level, working with amazing people around the world. To be successful in this position we believe you have a university degree or equivalent, and several years of experience as a data analyst practitioner, as well as experience of leadership in line organizations or projects.
To succeed in this role, you are passionate about data analytics, including enabling business users to gather user stories, data visualization, analytics development and data storytelling. You have experience hands on how data that increases insight and effectively operationalizes a smarter, data driven business. Furthermore, you are knowledgeable in the areas of data quality, data security and data architecture and how this needs to be accounted for in solutions.
The right candidate will be able to think and act strategically but also to operate and implement change tactically when required, dealing effectively with ambiguity, and managing changing priorities. You should be passionate about driving strategic & technological transformation in a business focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact. This role requires solid communication skills and a passion for leading, inspiring, and developing people.
