Digital Delivery is a new function within Volvo Group Digital & IT. It has the ambition to identify and execute on new digital initiatives in tight collaboration with the different business areas in Volvo Group as well as modernize and transform our existing solutions into products and to secure agile ways of working across the whole Digital Delivery function.

Together with our digital talents, we will work on solution design and deliveries to improve business performance and create value at scale for Volvo Group. Included in our mission is to drive an efficient Digital & IT interface and Portfolio Management for the TD/BAs and Group Functions.

We collaborate with other parts of the organization, both in Digital & IT and the rest of Volvo Group. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together.


The Project Management Chapter is now looking for several Chapter Leads in Sweden

In this role you will be reporting to the Chapter Area Lead for Sweden, within Digital Delivery. These appointments are new positions related to the change of structure of the Project Management function.


This is how you could make an impact


As a Chapter Lead, you will manage a diverse team of 8 to 12 project managers, while also spending part of your time working on actual projects.


You will add value in contributing to the creation and success of the Project Management Chapter, and in supporting the community of Project Managers who are and will continue to be key drivers of all transformations in the Digital & IT community.
A key success factor will be to work frequently with global stakeholders and colleagues in the respective Digital & IT organizations, and to use your personal practice as a project manager to support your team but also to continuously improve project management across Group Digital & IT. These will be some of your key responsibilities:
Attract, lead, and develop talented Project Managers
Manage a team of project managers, including employees & consultants
Contribute to constant development of Volvo Group project management methods, templates, tools, and guidelines
Manage your team assignments & capacity, focusing on finding the right project manager for each mission, and the right missions for each of your team members
Coach, support and develop Project Managers to reach Volvo Group strategic goals
Be one of the leaders of the practitioner community for Project Managers to enable knowledge sharing cross domains in the different business areas of Volvo Group
Secure "external" input and best practice sharing in the community

Chapter Leads need to be both good project managers and good leaders: if you have experience as a project manager at the senior level or above, and you are an emerging or experienced line manager, you have the right profile!
As a foundation, you have a relevant University degree or equivalent professional experience. You have experience working with project and program management, both in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid models. You have a genuine interest for developing, supporting, coaching, and guiding people through transformations & change.


Furthermore, you are inspiring, you have a problem-solving mindset and the courage to take well evaluated risks. You have experience in addressing stakeholders on various levels and challenging them when necessary. Finally, you find energy in working in a changing environment, executing the Volvo Group transformation agenda.
