Volvo Energy is our newest business area with the overarching purpose of supporting the Volvo Group’s transformation ambitions within electrification, sustainability, circularity, complete service offer, profitable growth, and resilience. Within Charging and Infrastructure Solutions, we develop end to end charging solutions and new business models to accelerate the rollout of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) / Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) in conjunction with Business Areas and partners.
We take a hands-on approach to charging solutions, becoming our brands’ trusted partners for infrastructure advisory services, and lead the development and installation of charging infrastructure for customers, dealers, and public charging sites.
We identify and extract public funding and subsidies across applicable markets and regions. We create new business offer opportunities as well as value propositions together with our Volvo Group colleagues and external partners. We jointly simplify the electrification transformation for our customers and society, as well as accelerate the journey towards 100% fossil free and in doing so, we support Volvo Group’s sustainability goals.
We are looking for a new colleague to join our team as Charging Infrastructure – Energy Advisor at Volvo Energy
In this role you will:
Work in close cooperation with multiple brands within Volvo Group to develop and conduct advisory services in Europe, supporting Business Areas with charging needs assessments and Hardware and Software solution proposals for our strategically significant customers/specific engagements while ensuring high levels of accountability and customer satisfaction
Define technical requirements and specifications for the equipment required to connect the customers’ charging infrastructure to the local grid
Support design and costing of the optimal grid connection for customers based on the charging infrastructure requirements identified during site assessments carried out at their depots
Help create the technology roadmap considering various electricity supply options available to us (i.e., Power Purchase Agreement) and their technical implications
Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory regulation evolutions to ensure future proofing of our technical solutions portfolio
Develop tools, trainings, and standardized processes for efficient delivery of C&IS solutions. Train colleagues in different Volvo Business areas, dealers, and other internal stakeholders as needed
Support Volvo group brands in business development activities, creating the C&IS part of the total offer, including partner recommendations and available public incentives, bundling together C&IS products, services, energy solutions, and financing to form an industry-leading total offer that supports the brands’ e-Mobility leadership ambitions
Lead projects, pre-studies and pilots (including public funding coordination) to ensure successful deployments at customers’ sites

Qualifications likely required to be successful:
Engineering skills to design charging infrastructure blueprint for customer site
Working experience in one or more of the following areas in the energy sector with a focus on Charging infrastructure:
Charging needs analysis
Power and/or gas market analysis
E-mobility Strategy
Working experience and knowledge of electrical hardware and grid management
Sales experience from e-mobility, charging solutions or electrical infrastructure is an advantage
Real estate or civil works background with energy management experience is an advantage
Excellent knowledge in building frameworks (process, methods, strategies, plans) and leveraging intrapreneurial skills in large, cross-functional organizations
Pragmatic hands-on approach going from words to action
Experience in working in multicultural and global environment
Empathy and humor
