In this role, you will be leading the EHSE (Environment, Health, Safety & Energy) department. The department's mission is to support the organization in meeting internal and external requirements in safety and sustainability. This includes the responsibility of continuously improving the EHSE management systems.
You will lead a team of 4 specialists working as safety engineers (incl. general work environment & fire protection) and environmental/energy coordinators. You report directly to Avesta Works’ site manager and are part of the Senior Management Team in Avesta. Your role also includes being part of the group's network for EHS managers and introducing group-wide standards at the Avesta location.

Your role
Maintain and develop Outokumpu’s EHSE systems to achieve our vision
Ensure EHSE plans and strategies are implemented on time
Review safety standards and audit progress towards implementing changes
Ensure required competencies within your department
Evaluate and present safety performance across the site
Lead the EHSE function throughout Avesta Works
Participate in Avesta Works Senior Management Team
Be part of a global network developing safety and sustainability to reach Outokumpu´s mission in this field.

About you
We are searching for a confident leader with the strength and ability to both influence and inspire. We believe that you are a very good communicator. You are clear, well organized, and work towards targets with a holistic view and with the many facets of your expertise in mind. You’re naturally incorporating aspects such as safety and sustainability in driving your team and processes to higher standards.
This role has a great impact on the way Outokumpu functions on a local and global scale, therefore we are looking for a leader who wants to make a difference.
To qualify you will need:
Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education related to environment, health, safety, or sustainability
Multiple years of experience as a manager in relevant industries
Experience leading change and continuous improvement projects
Understanding organizational safety topics related to industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, or energy environments
Excellent language skills in Swedish and English
Knowledge of EHSE management systems and certifications are highly meriting
