Northvolt Systems has a mission to design and produce the greenest and safest battery systems for Industrial and Grid applications. Quality, Sustainability and Environment is what our heart beats for and we are looking for a Chemical Compliance Engineer to work with interdisciplinary teams in our Stockholm office.
The main focus of the job scope is to ensure that all the Northvolt Systems products are following the material compliance regulations such as RoHS, REACH, Battery Directive/regulation and other applicable legislations. Other work tasks include reviewing of internal processes and action in accordance to ISO requirements for all chemicals used in Northvolt Systems facilities.
You will be a part of the Northvolt Systems product compliance team which is looking for your expertise, practical interpretation and implementation of legislation related to chemicals used in materials and articles. This to support in various Northvolt Systems teams and projects. You will have a close collaboration with the central Chemical Compliance team to strengthen the support within the organization.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure the compliance of Northvolt Systems products in accordance to EU and global chemical- and material legislation
Define/improve processes related to chemical and material compliance for Northvolt Systems
Train and instruct design engineers regarding chemical and material compliance
Perform chemical- and material assessments
Including compliance check towards various legislations
Include support SDS assessments
Ensure that applicable notification and reporting for the final product are performed. Review of internal processes and action in accordance to ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Qualified in chemistry, chemical engineer or similar
Previous experience in regulatory compliance, such as REACH, RoHS and WEEE
Basic knowledge in Health & Safety issues and toxicology is advantageous
Experience in Project Management is advantageous.
