Polestar is blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance and to improve the society we live in. In this role you will support the teams and co-workers at Polestar relating to chemical management and compliance. You will be the spider in the web and coordinate activities throughout Polestar’s business, supporting our teams on this material sustainability issue. True to Polestar’s vision you will get to seek out innovative solutions and projects. All in all, you will be Polestar’s go to-chemical expert!

You will be a part of the Sustainability team and work together with innovative and open-minded colleagues who like you believes electrification is a part of a sustainable future for our planet.



This position is located at our HQ, in Gothenburg. We understand that work-life balance isn’t easy, and of course, welcome our employees to work flexible hours and from home a couple of days per week if needed. We believe in empowerment.

What you'll do

- Work to mitigate and measure negative impact from the use of chemicals
- Establish requirements and targets connected to chemicals for all Polestar car programs
- Develop policies and processes for chemical management and compliance throughout out our operations and supply chain
- Coordinate activities for compliance to chemical regulations (like EU and China REACH, EU and China RoHS directives, POP protocol and Stockholm convention, US-CPSIA)
- Perform testing and screening to assure that we choose the best-in-class chemicals and avoid hazardous chemicals
- Coordinate projects and capacity building programs for mitigation of chemical pollution throughout the Polestar value chain


Who you are

You have at least 3 years of experience working with sustainability and chemicals. We believe you have a Master (MSc) in a chemical/sustainability related field. Your main expertise and passion is circularity and a world free from pollution! You also have a proven track record in managing projects and cross-functional work groups. It is important you are energized by working in a creative start-up environment, taking action where you see potential and creating a structure where and when needed.You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized and driven.

You’re not afraid to try new approaches and unconventional methods, and you work well both individually and as part of a team. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, sustainability, and customers.

At Polestar, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. Since Polestar’s in a scale-up phase you thrive by working in a fast-paced environment.
