Right now, we’re looking for a Chemical Management Specialist for our EHS team within Sandvik Coromant. An energetic approach is needed, so is sensitivity. The one we’re looking for, understands when to push the boundaries, and when we’re already doing the right thing.
As much as we truly value your characteristics and networking abilities, we really strive to get hold of your hands-on experience in working with chemical management in a large international business. We also see the experience from a university degree in Chemistry or Materials. Naturally, it’s beneficial if you have previously rolled out chemical management systems globally, but to be true, what’s really required, is that you have at least five years’ experience of working with global chemical management. By this you should have good knowledge of chemical legislations such as REACH and RoHS, hopefully you have also been in contact with legislations outside Europe. As we’re a globally present company, your English skills are of great importance to us, and we expect you to be crystal clear in that matter.
Let’s talk about the job
At first, the location for the position is rather flexible between our sites, but a time zone corresponding wel to Sweden’s is preferred due to the management situation. In this position, you bring a committed mindset and take lead for our common direction on chemical management within Sandvik Coromant. You’re responsible for policies, procedures, objectives and guidelines in matters of EHS to ensure compliance for both our products and our operations, and you promote our work and support all actions to make it reality at all our sites – globally- During normal circumstances the job includes some international travel.
You’ll be working closely with our Legal Compliance Specialist in the chemical area, and your combined understanding of the globally diverse legislations is key as you assist the business to register chemicals correctly and support substitution when needed. This also makes you an excellent partner in audits and control of accident and hazards related to chemicals. In addition, you’re exceptionally good at explaining the why’s and the what’s to everyone concerned - a skill that’s highly valued to reach success.
