The role of Chemical Program Specialist is a position within the EHS Team's Project Group at the EHS Department in Uppsala. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and manage chemical programs and procedures. Essential in this role will be your ability to engage and communicate with a number of key functions and activities on-site to achieve robust and long-term solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Environmental, Health and Safety department at GE Healthcare Life Sciences in Uppsala is in the process of revising and renewing its way of working. We are looking for qualified applicants aiming for a dynamic workplace with many opportunities of leadership and growth.
Your key responsibilities will be to implement, maintain and improve all aspects of the site´s Chemical Program. Responsibilities will also include the investigation of incidents, near misses and Concern Reports involving chemical hazards to determine root causes, corrective and preventive measures. Site-wide leadership and coordination of activities aimed at maintaining compliance with chemical legislation including Management of Change, CLP, REACH, ATEX and Seveso are also the key functions of this position.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Master's Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field
Experience from relevant chemical industry, preferably heavy chemical manufacturing
Knowledge of chemical legislation
Experience in conducting chemical training
Experience in leading an organization through practical EHS solutions
Compliance Audit skills
Fluent in Swedish and English
Proven skills in engaging, motivating and involving people
Self-motivated, responsible and use to make individual decisions
Good communication capability
EU work permit
