Chemist/Engineer to Research and Development

LINDGENS - coatings and inks for the metal packaging industry is an independent group of companies, ranking among the leaders in the field of Metal Decorating.Lindgens manufacture and market complete system solutions of coatings and inks for the metal packaging industry.Lindgens Metal Decorating Coatings & Inks was established in 2005 through the management takeover of the Metal decorating businesses of Flint Ink Corporation and XSYS Print Solutions Lindgens in Langenfeld, Germany.This has resulted in the formation of the first independent group focusing solely on the Metal Decorating market. As a R&D Chemist you will play a leading role in the development of Lindgens Coating products.You will be responsible for managing and developing products for the entire coatings portfolio used on the external surfaces of all metal packaging types.Depending on your background and experience this may include the development of resins.You should be able to set up and manage projects from the beginning to completion and earlier experience/knowledge of the packaging manufacturing process would therefore be useful. The main responsibilities of the R&D Chemist will include: * Manage Product and Service Projects * Ownership of the Product Article Register * Responsibility for QC Specifications and Technical Data Sheets * Optimize the manufacturing together with our production organisation * Communicate with suppliers, customers and our internal sales force * Give support to both external and internal "trouble shooting" Other requirements/qualifications: * Suitable academic education in Chemistry, minimum BSc degree.* Several years experience from working with paint and/or the polymer industry * Experience from working with oven curing products * Experience in working with resins * Good communication skills in English (spoken and written) are required and skills in other languages are useful (German) * Microsoft Office knowledge We are looking for a highly motivated person with a positive "can do" attitude.You should have a strong service orientation and be able to communicate to internal and external customer.The position is full time and permanent.You will be based at the head quarter in Helsingborg, Sweden but the position will include some international travelling.
