Chief Accountant within Financial Control and Accounting - Team AB Volvo and Volvo Treasury AB


Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is the function in Group Reporting Tax & Control (part of Group Finance) with responsibility to secure that financial performance is correctly reflected for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities. FCA is also a global service provider through Accounting Services with process efficient, standardized service deliveries supporting local finance. FCA employs 1400+ people in 50+ countries.
FCA Group & Sweden is the part of FCA with responsibility for financial performance reporting for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities based in Sweden.

Position Description
We are now looking for an experienced Chief Accountant for AB Volvo to join our team in Gothenburg.
The Chief Accountant is responsible for the accounting records and accuracy within a legal entity. The purpose of the job is to provide both internal and external parties with meaningful, accurate and timely legal entity financial information. The Chief Accountant should ensure completion of all statutory and compliance reporting for the legal entity that he/she represents and secure an overall alignment of operational results with AB Volvo business decisions.


You have a business oriented mindset and enjoy working in an international and flexible environment and strive to improve the workflow and processes. One key success factor, besides having a passion for accounting, is that you are a true team player and have good networking skills.


One important part of the job is to be updated with all the latest changes in accounting policies and reporting requirements, and to make sure that these are implemented in the legal entity reporting. This will be done in close collaboration with your colleagues in Poland and India responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting.


The team is also providing day-to-day accounting support. You will participate in development work aiming to increase efficiency and effectiveness in our ways of working. You have a solid interest in adding value to the functions supported, in continuous improvement and in improving efficiency in accounting by effective use of tools. In this role you will report to Head of FCA AB Volvo & Volvo Treasury.


Skills and qualifications:
University degree in Business Administration or similar education and minimum of five years of advanced experience in the field of accounting
Ability to prioritize and with strong commitment to get things done
Proactive, service minded with high integrity
Analytical, structured, ability to work independently
Enjoy functional leadership, working in teams and contributing to a positive atmosphere
Excellent communication and presentations skills
Fluent in written and spoken English
Excellent skills in SAP R/3 and Microsoft Office
Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP and passion for continuously improving accounting and reporting
Knowledge of VGCS and understanding of Essbase is an advantage
