Chief Accountant for Volvo Financial Services AB within Financial Control and Accounting – Team Group Functions
Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is the function in Group Reporting Tax & Control (part of Group Finance) with responsibility to secure that financial performance is correctly reflected for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities. FCA is also a global service provider through Accounting Services with process efficient, standardized service deliveries supporting local finance. FCA employs 1400+ people in 50+ countries.
FCA Group & Sweden is the part of FCA with responsibility for financial performance reporting for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities based in Sweden.

In this position you will be the chief accountant for Volvo Financial Services AB, which is a shareholding legal entity acting as the regional headquarter of VFS Europe North & Central and also including parts of the VFS Global headquarter. By being a center for management and coordination VFS AB plays an important role in making it possible for Business area VFS to globally support Volvo in creating customer value by offering competitive financial solutions. The job involves working in close co-operation with different functions at Volvo Financial Services, which will give you a broad understanding of the VFS business and operations. You will thereby have the possibility to work with and learn more about additional areas than your own area of expertise and also to build a strong network both within FCA and within VFS.
Position Description
We are now looking for an experienced Chief Accountant for Volvo Financial Services AB to join our team in Gothenburg.
The Chief Accountant is responsible for the accounting records and accuracy within a legal entity. The purpose of the job is to provide both internal and external parties with meaningful, accurate and timely legal entity financial information. The Chief Accountant should ensure completion of all statutory and compliance reporting for the legal entity that he/she represents and secure an overall alignment of operational results with VFS business decisions. As Chief Accountant you drive change for your respective legal entity accounting flow together with an extensive network of people throughout Volvo.

One very important part of the job is to be updated with all the latest changes in accounting policies and reporting requirements, and to make sure that these are implemented in the legal entity reporting. This will be done in close collaboration with your colleagues in Poland and India responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting.
The team is also providing day-to-day accounting support. You will participate in development work aiming to increase efficiency and effectiveness in our ways of working. You have a solid interest in adding value to the functions supported, in continuous improvement and in improving efficiency in accounting by effective use of tools. Skills and qualifications:
University degree in Business Administration or similar education and minimum of five years of advanced experience in the field of accounting
Experience from a financial position within Volvo is an advantage
Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
Passion for continuously improving accounting and reporting
Interest in developing administrative processes with new technology
Ability to prioritize and with strong commitment to get things done
Proactive, service-minded with high integrity
Analytical, structured, ability to work independently
Enjoy functional leadership, are able to drive improvement in a complex environment of many processes, organizations and stakeholders
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English
Excellent skills in SAP R/3 and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of VGCS and Essbase is an advantage
