Volvo Group Design is the design function of the Group’s brands and business areas. The team provides design to products, digital solutions and services from the three studios located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France and Greensboro NC, US.
We are now looking for a skilled and passionate Chief Colour and Material CMF Designer to join our Volvo Trucks design team located in Lundby, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Position Description
As the Chief Colour and Material CMF Designer for Volvo Trucks, you will lead and motivate and inspire the Design Team including: Interior, Exterior, UX Designers and others that work to translate business strategy and customer needs into viable and desirable commercial solutions. You lead scope setting and prioritization activities and strive to secure value through, inspiring strategic concepts, bench marking, production feasible solutions, team collaboration and inspirational ways of working that build teamwork that inspire others to make amazing products.
You lead the work across a wide range of areas, including: wider industry trends analysis, business models and value propositions, future concepts and roadmaps, business cases and outcome definitions, customer/user research and analysis, customer experience design, process facilitation and visual communication and storytelling to package and communicate findings, insights and concepts in a clear and impactful way.
We offer you an interesting role where you will collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to innovate, design, prototype and build solutions in cutting edge areas in sustainability, electromobility, automation.

Requirements
Degree related to CMF Design and Industrial Design discipline or industry experience within the Automotive CMF Design area,
Minimum 8 years of industry experience.
Incredible creative ideas that have the knowledge and possibility to make the impossible, possible.
Passion for sustainability and industry leading product development thinking.
A strong understanding of Colour and material design and Design development methodologies and the process from research to development.
Experience with planning and conducting customer research.
Experience of strategic development.
Proven abilities to build networks and partnerships.
Knowledge and experience of facilitation tools and methods.
Visual communication and prototyping knowledge to create & communicate product, material, colours, paint, fabrics, design artefacts and strategies.
Project management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluent in English.
Must be a team player who thrives on building connections with the team and inspiring others.
