Lynk&Co Design is part of Geely Design Global, a multi-cultural organization with seven well-equipped studios in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Coventry, Hethel and Los Angeles, with total staff of approximately 900. These design studios, with top class design teams and the latest tools in design development, are responsible for the creation of a unique design language for each of Geely's brands; Geely, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, Proton, Lotus and London Taxi.
We are a fast-growing team of both creative and management professionals with the task of delivering exciting global products suitable for volume production and innovative concepts. As Chief Designer you will play an important part to ensure the execution of the design from the sketch phase to final production for future Lynk & Co vehicles. You will join a team that is dedicated to design, innovation and technology. With members that are, just like you, proud of their professionalism, motivation and level of skills. As a Chief Designer this is what you will do most of the time:
- Lead a team of junior and senior designers working with design proposals ranging from initial concept work through to final production execution.
- Organize and guide design activities to secure program deliveries according to design directions.
- Act as a mentor for the design team to improve design quality and efficiency.
- Support design director in assessing team performance.
- Speaking partner with project engineering and program management.
- Design representative in relevant meeting forums (WEED-WIDE, CEM etc).
- Organize design reviews in collaboration with design project leader.
- You will report to the Head of Exterior Design.
Is it you?
We are looking for someone that is proactive, autonomous and confident with a strong ability to take quick initiative. Your motivational, mentoring and leading skills are vast and you have the ability to inspire others. To be successful in the role you need to be structured, methodical and have an analytical mind with good planning skills. We also see that you are flexible, agile and able to work simultaneously with several projects under constrained time schedules and frequently revised circumstances. Great communication and presentation skills are of importance as well as being fluent in English both spoken and written. Cultural awareness, specifically between Europe and Asia is also an important factor for the role.
You have probably done something like this:
- University degree in transportation design
- Minimum of 10 years experience in car design
- Minimum 2 years experience in leading design teams
- Previous experience with Asian OEMs is a must
- 360° understanding of car development process
- Solid experience in CAD 3D design process and software
