Lynk&Co Design is part of Geely Design Global, a multi-cultural organization with seven well-equipped studios in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Coventry, Hethel and Los Angeles, with total staff of approximately 900. These design studios, with top class design teams and the latest tools in design development, are responsible for the creation of a unique design language for each of Geely's brands; Geely, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, Proton, Lotus and London Taxi.

Lynk & Co Design is looking for a Chief HMI Designer in their Gothenburg design studio responsible for the global design of Lynk & Co digital and interaction design.

As a Chief HMI Designer, you will play an important role in leading the team to create design proposals ranging from initial ideation to feasible concepts and in some cases all the way to final production. You will join a team that is dedicated to user-driven design, innovation and technology, with members that, just like you, are proud of their professionalism, motivation and level of skills. You will be based in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, and report to Head of HMI Design
As a Chief HMI Designer this is what you will do most of the time:
- Drive explorative and strategic work on Digital and Interaction design
- Create and provide the organization with a strategic plan to be leading in digital user experience and that fulfills the brand’s design philosophy.
- Create a common foundation for project teams to design great experiences that fulfill both users’ needs and brand requirements.
- Evaluate concepts and design proposals and give direction to the design teams.
- Collaborate with the HMI prototyping team to continuously build on our MVP prototypes
- Work with the Interior design team to develop interactive touch points in the cockpit with excellent look, feel and function, and work with them to create a unified vision for the Interior designs.
- Work with the Exterior design team to develop exterior touch points for information or communication, and work with them to create a unified vision for exterior touch points.
- Work with the Color and Trim design team to create designs that consider the opportunities and limits of the color and trim vision, and work with them to create a unified vision for the designs.
- Work with suppliers to achieve the best possible product in terms of usefulness, usability, and cost, while also staying as close to the design vision as possible.
- Act as a mentor for HMI designers
- Support Head of HMI Design with some management tasks.
Is this you?
We are looking for someone that is flexible, has a strong drive and is able to work under constrained time schedules and frequently revised circumstances. You need to be independent and confident as well as a good team player. To be successful in the role you need to be structured, methodical and have an analytical mind with good planning skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Cultural awareness, specifically between Europe and Asia is also an important factor for the role.
You and your skills:
- University degree in Interaction design, Industrial or transportation design. We are looking for combination of these disciplines. New inter-disciplinary programs are of interest.
- Minimum 8 year’s relevant working experience in UI/UX
- Good knowledge of the UI/UX design process and best-practices
- Excellent knowledge of software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC. Good knowledge in Blender or VRED are a strong plus
- Communicative with good verbal and visual presentation skills.
- Ability to lead on all aspects of digital and interaction design.
- Ability to think conceptually and strategically.
- Ability to drive, motivate and convince
- English, spoken and written
- Driver’s license
Additional information
- Travels to Asia may be needed (approx. 2 trips per year).
- Each individual in our team has a high level of responsibility and is expected to be able to work autonomously.
