Lynk&Co Design is part of Geely Design Global, a multi-cultural organization with seven well-equipped studios in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Coventry, Hethel and Los Angeles, with total staff of approximately 900. Lynk & Co Design is looking for a Chief Interior Designer in their Gothenburg design studio responsible for the global design of Lynk & Co interiors. As a Chief Interior Designer, you will play an important role in leading the design team to create unique and distinctive design proposals ranging from initial concept work through to final production. You will join a team that is dedicated to design, innovation and technology. With members that are, just like you, proud of their professionalism, motivation and level of skills. As a Chief Interior Designer this is what you will do most of the time:
- Lead a team to design from the sketch phase to concept modeling in Alias or clay, and through to B-class surfacing. Mentor designers and be able to take on high-level management tasks.
- Come up with strategic design and engineering solutions that serve the design vision and also fit with the engineering constraints.
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of Interior design.
- High-level conceptual and strategic thinker.
- Align with the color and trim design team to create designs that consider the opportunities and limits of the color and trim vision, and work with them to create a unified vision for the designs.
- Align with Interaction design team to create designs with excellent HMI
- Align with suppliers to achieve the best possible product in terms of craftsmanship, cost, and engineering, while also staying as close to the design vision as possible.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to complete prototypes when necessary.
- Will report to Head of Interior Design.
Is it you?
We are looking for someone that is flexible, has a strong drive and is able to work under constrained time schedules and frequently revised circumstances. You need to be independent and confident as well as a good team player. To be successful in the role you need to be structured, methodical and have an analytical mind with good planning skills to handle a large number of projects simultaneously. Cultural awareness, specifically between Europe and Asia is also an important factor for the role.
You and your skills:
- University degree in transportation design
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in automobile interior design. Demonstrate experience leading creative teams
- English, spoken and written
- Comprehensive knowledge of CAD 3D design process and software such as Blender, Photoshop, and VRED
- Communicative with strong verbal and visual presentation skills.
Additional information
- Travels to Asia may be needed (approx. 2-3 per year).
- Each individual in our team has a high level of responsibility and is expected to be able to work autonomously.
