We are looking for a person with wide understanding of telecom technology to join our CTO Office in our Networks (NW) division. Telenor is rapidly heading towards the digital future, and we are looking for people who wants to make a difference in the NW Technology area.

The CTO Office function governs the NW division’s cross-functional agenda and projects across Telenor Sweden. We assess the OPEX and CAPEX outlook together with the business controlling function, and take part in governance of strategic projects, including management of strategic contracts. The team includes experienced experts with both Business and Technical background from Telecom.

As our Chief Network Architect you will be responsible for facilitating the Technology Architecture in Telenor Sweden in co-ordination with HQ in Telenor Group and other Telenor Business Units in Scandinavia and Asia. The role spans the following telecom technology domains: Radio Access Network, Transmission, Transport, Core Network and Fixed Network. We believe you should have experience in one or several of these domains, but it is required that you coordinate the architectural guidelines and specifications with other domain experts in each area.

In the role as Chief Network Architect, you will also be the overall responsible for the technology strategy in our Networks division. This means that you will ensure that the Telenor Sweden technology strategy is aligned with the Telenor Sweden business strategy and the Telenor Group technology strategy. You will drive and co-ordinate the yearly Technology strategy process in Telenor Sweden with other NW and IT-experts, and facilitate discussions about the long term road-map in the NW division (Inc. required projects). Moreover, you will facilitate competence mapping as part of strategic workforce planning in the Networks Division. As a part of the CTO Office expert team, you will be asked to facilitate technical discussions in the Networks Management team, and in other relevant management teams in Telenor Sweden.

Who are you
Your background can be from a telecom operator, a telecom equipment manufacturer, a telecom solution provider, or a consultancy with focus on telecom technology. An understanding of the Swedish Telecom market in particular is beneficial, but not a requirement. We believe you should have extensive years of relevant technical experience from the industry.

In order to succeed in this role, we think you should have:
* A broad understanding of the telecom industry in general, and deep understanding in one or several technology domains, e.g. Radio Access Technology, Transmission, Transport, Core Network, Fixed Network and Service Infrastructure
* Experience in Stakeholder Management, i.e. an ability to effectively communicate and interact with higher management
* Experience across organizational and cultural boundaries, internal as well as external towards e.g. vendors or Headquarters in Telenor Group
* Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
* A high degree of execution power and passion
* High level of integrity and ethics, adhering to the Telenor way of working
* Commitment, maturity, flexibility and speed in response to business and challenges
