Are you a leader who motivates and inspires other, who encourage collaboration and development - with a great focus on safety first? As Chief Officer, you will not only be navigating the vessel but also be responsible for running the Deck Departments’ day-to-day work – in an efficient, motivating way and always with a focus on safety first! We are now looking for a leader who inspires and develop the crew in the right direction, a leader who always encourages teamwork, and a great working environment!

You will oversee the department’s work routines and assign deck duties to your crew; ensuring that hours of work are in accordance with the hours of rest requirements. You will also plan the maintenance of the vessel, which includes cargo, and ballasting operations, among other tasks. The Master and Chief Engineer are always available to give advice on any subject while carrying out your duties.

We offer you a permanent position as Chief Officer with initial placement onboard one of our vessels departing from Gothenburg. You will be employed with a shipping company employment (rederianställning) which means that it is possible to be transferred to other Swedish-flagged vessels within Stena Line in the future.

Some of your key responsibilities:
- Responsible for running the Deck Department
- Overseeing the Maintenance of the Deck Department
- Responsible for cargo planning
- Administrative tasks related to personnel and working environment
- Enforcing all orders issued by the Master and keeping the Master informed of all matters connected with the Deck Department.

Qualifications:
- Good leadership skills - experience working as a motivating and inspiring leader
- Deck Officer Class II
- Strong analytical and strategic ability 
- Strong system knowledge
- Fluent in English and Swedish 
- Dangerous goods certificate  
- Advanced Fire Fighting certificate
