The Chief Publishing Officer (CPO) is one of the most critical roles within Avalanche Studios Group. This position is responsible for the strategic crafting of go-to-market strategies for all Avalanche games. As a member of the Executive Team, the CPO will collaborate with the other leaders to set the overall vision and commercial strategy for each product.
The CPO´s responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and managing all self-publishing relations, marketing, channel strategies, live operations, player support, localization, customer acquisition, and player insights and data. Reporting directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
Publishing Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive publishing strategy for multiple games, ensuring successful launches and ongoing growth.
Business Development: Forge and manage key partnerships with external platforms and partners to expand our games reach and distribution.
Team Building: Build a team and ensure the division has long-range goals, strategies, and execution plans. Recruit, coach, manage, and foster the continuous career development of best-in-class, cross-discipline publishing talent.
Live games Management: Oversee live games' successful management and improvement, continuously optimizing their performance.
Publishing Project Oversight: Lead the oversight of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and are delivered on time and within budget.
Release Management: Lead the oversight of multiple project releases, ensuring quality and alignment with our strategic objectives and ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Community Building: Develop and nurture a thriving gaming community, driving engagement and leveraging community feedback to enhance our games.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate closely with the games team to develop effective go-to-market strategies that maximize game adoption and revenue.
Marketing Team Development: Build and lead a marketing team that effectively promotes our games and engages our target audience.
Strategic Vision: Bring a forward-looking perspective to the organization, identifying emerging trends and opportunities for growth.
Stakeholder Management: Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
Setting up playtest framework for different games in production, both internal playtest and playtests with external stakeholders
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a senior publishing role, with a track record of successfully launching and managing diverse games, including live games.
Experience developing and leading highly functional teams with ambitious goals and large online customer communities.
Strong knowledge of community building and engagement strategies.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen.
Proficiency in working with diverse stakeholders both within and outside the organization.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
