We’re now looking for a business-minded CIO and Head of IT for this new business area – someone with a global and strategic view on IT, and a broad understanding of how to incorporate IT solutions that deliver true customer value. Let’s talk about your mission
You’re heading the IT department for Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions, and you set and deliver on an overall IT strategy closely connected to our business. A strategy where we integrate management and operational IT as part of our various business functions, and where we find the best mix of in-house resources and strategic external alliances to ensure capacity and balance the demand of our customers. You make sure to build a framework for SLA’s and governance, and to enable the delivery of stable, secure and compliant operations. At the same time, you establish a solid link between Enterprise IT and Product IT, and you define and organize IT-related improvement projects. By overseeing costs, value and risks, you advise our management, suggest actions and facilitate decision-making.
In such an ever-changing environment with new technologies emerging every day, you actively monitor advancements and trends, and you identify innovative and efficient solutions that brings a competitive advantage for us. This also means close collaboration with suppliers and stakeholders – across the entire Sandvik business, as well as externally – to drive an agile IT delivery and optimize the use of modern technology and the strategic benefits connected to it.
Another key collaboration partner for you is the Digital Development Center, reporting to the Vice President & Head of Digital Offering and catering our digital offering. Delivering on agreed IT roadmap, while supporting our digital offering solutions, are critical for the future of the organization and for meeting our customer’s expectations. You aim for a truly global IT setting, and you build an organization where team spirit, development and best practices are cornerstones. You also coach and empower your own team of four direct reports, and by connecting people, technology and processes, you establish business driven solutions.
You report to the Vice President and Head of Strategy, Business Development and IT, and are part of our extended management team. You also represent Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions as an active member of the IT Board for Sandvik Group. This position is based in the Svedala/Malmö area, although other locations could be discussed, and some travel is normally included in your job.
And what about you?
We’re looking for a confident and inclusive leader, with proven skills in people and performance management and the ability to successfully bring a strategy to life. You have broad experiences and knowledge of the IT domain – including AI, ERP systems and the MS platform – and you’re very interested in emerging technologies. Your career includes similar roles in a global setting, and preferably in the manufacturing industry. You’re also experienced in driving transformation and change – naturally within IT, but also by leading other business related programs. A master’s in IT, Computer Science or another technology field is required, and as we’re represented worldwide, you have both cultural awareness and excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of Swedish is beneficial.
As a person, you’re self-motivated, organized and resilient, and you make sure to see things through to the end to accomplish successful results. You mix these characteristics with being an agile and transparent team player – someone who builds trust, communicates clearly, share insights and inspires people. You’re both innovative and highly tech-driven, and you challenge us to make smart, timely decisions and look at different perspectives. You also present detailed technical information in ways that everyone can grasp. Quite simply, you speak IT from a business point of view!
