Who you are
We are looking for a purpose lead senior leader for the Circular team at the Hubhult Office in Malmö. You will be part of the management team for
Group Sustainability and report directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer for Ingka. You will be a key player in delivering to our purpose to
balancing economic growth and positive social impact with environmental protection and regeneration.
To be successful in this role, you have:
• Strong, purpose lead visionary, and resilient leadership skills with deep knowledge in circular economy, operations, and business models
• Great understanding on how to lead with a system thinking approach across eco-systems and how to measure non-financial performance
• Senior leadership competences with a genuine interest for leading and developing multidisciplinary teams of leaders and subject matter experts in
addition to leading business agendas across organisations collaboratively with external stakeholders, delivering results through others
• An ability to challenge status quo and advocate for our role in the most important decade to come
• Exceptionally strong change agent skills pushing for balancing economic growth and positive social impact with environmental protection and regeneration
• An ability to act as a spokesperson and visionary advocate and can inspire trust and action
• Higher education in business, economics, sustainability or similar, and experience working as a CSO/or similar in a small to mid-sized company
What you'll be doing day to day
You will be responsible for setting up and facilitating the Ingka strategic direction in circular, enabling us to deliver to our 2030 ambitions. Together with your team you will provide up to date subject matter expertise and continuously develop insights & competence around circular.
More specifically, you will:
• Provide strategic “thought and action” leadership on circular to transform into a resilient people and planet positive business
• Set the strategic direction to transition Ingka into a leading circular company
• Co-own the Ingka People and Planet Positive Strategy, together with fellow strategy managers and the Sustainability Transformation & Integration Manager for other topic areas
• Own, develop and set the guiding principles, policies, and business requirements for the area of circular
• Oversee and sign-off on a business development and innovation roadmaps and other deliveries contributing to the strategic circular agenda
• Develop a long-term strategic engagement plan that contributes to our overall objectives across all parts of the business
• Lead, manage and coach a team of leaders and subject matter experts and encourage development, support succession, and secure a high performing team
• Provide expert advice to proactively support the business and senior management with direction, tools, measurements, and knowledge
• Serve as an external advocate/spokesperson for Ingka on the topic of circularity to position our brand, cultivate strategic partnerships and influence societal change
• Serve as a partner to public affairs team when lobbying for legislative change
• Act as an active member in relevant decision forums across Ingka Group and align with stakeholders throughout IKEA to secure a common approach and ambition level
• Be an active member of the Ingka Group Sustainability Leadership team and governance forums, acting as a decision maker with the aim to deliver to the totality of the People & Planet Positive strategy
