About the role:
You will manage and be part of a new function within Marketplace Technology that is responsible for the overall quality strategy, execution and monitoring for large, multi-product Client deliveries.
Nasdaq is looking for a Software Quality Senior Director to spearhead a new function for cross-product Quality Assurance and Quality Control at Nasdaq Marketplace Technology.
You will play a key part in shaping the future strategy for the quality management of Client deliverables, whilst promoting Agile ways of working. This role will be highly visible to senior Nasdaq management and our Clients, as you will be expected to partner with both internal and external stakeholders to implement best-in-class Quality practices.
The role encompasses the complete product portfolio of software products and services for Marketplace Technology and spans the complete transaction processing chain from trading, clearing, market risk to settlement & custody.
To be successful in this role, you need to have a thorough understanding of Software Delivery and QA practices - spanning functional and non-functional QA domains. You must also possess a flexible mindset and an ability to adapt when pre-requisites are changing. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, working across multiple domains and influencing senior management to adopt your recommendations.
Your responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead improvement initiatives in both areas of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
You will also provide thought leadership in the development of the future quality management strategy aimed at taking the quality ambitions of the Client Success portfolio to the next level. This includes being a key enabler for adopting and accelerating agile way-of-working.
In addition, you will ensure that the project teams have common practices and processes in place for all aspects of Quality Assurance and Control.
You will lead and contribute to regular Governance Forums to present QA initiative progress to senior management.
You will ensure the QA specialists in your team participate in different projects as part of cross functional project teams, have the appropriate competence and continuously develop their skills. You will cultivate a compassionate and high performing culture.
You will work very closely with the other core functions (Product Managers, Development teams, Product QA managers, System Architects, BAs etc.) and partner with Project Managers to make sure that the teams work together in an optimal way.
You will also continue to expand the team for this high growth area and therefore recruitment and onboarding new employees will be a big part of your role.
You will bring:
A degree in Computer Science or other related discipline
Demonstrated experience (8+ years) from strategic work in both quality assurance and quality control from a large software organization including expert knowledge of ISO 25010
Experience from quality assurance maturity models such as TMMI and TPI
Experience of Agile Software Delivery and quality management
Hands-on testing experience from technical complex systems in an international environment
A history of analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills
Abilities to engage and collaborate closely with external clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Drive and motivation to challenge the status quo and deliver within the context of a high pace environment
