Vattenfall Research & Development AB is a centre of competence for research and development in one of the most exciting energy groups in Northern Europe.We conduct development projects in the Nordic countries, Poland and Germany.The company has 190 employees with offices located in Stockholm/Älvkarleby (Sweden), Fredericia (Denmark) and Berlin (Germany).As part of the business challenges imposed by climate change and energy market policies we will strengthen our positions within the R&D area "Future Energy Markets". Vattenfall's business environment is changing rapidly as a consequence of climate and energy policies.Targets have been set by society on green house gas emissions, renewable energy, energy efficiency, security of supply, new technologies and deregulation of markets.Vattenfall is responding to these challenges by making electricity clean and having ambitious internal goals, which will make Vattenfall climate neutral by 2050.To strengthen our possibilities to get a better understanding of critical climate and energy policy issues and be better prepared for action we are seeking a climate and energy policy analyst to our R&D Area "Future Energy Markets". Main Tasks Your main task will be to make impact analyses on climate and energy policy issues and support internal processes of adapting to the climate change challenges.You will play a key role in our external and internal work with abatement of green house gases, which require a deep knowledge of both the political playing field as well as economic and technical aspects of energy technologies.As Vattenfall is an international group with current activities in the Nordic countries, Germany and Poland an important task for you will be to integrate the aspects of our different home markets in your work.You will also foster contacts with universities and the research community.The work you perform will be an important input to strategic decisions within Vattenfall, where by we have high requirements on the ability to communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear and distinct way both in writing and in oral presentations.You will work in a team with highly qualified economists and engineers. Qualifications We are looking for someone with experience in the energy sector with an academic background on master level in engineering.It will be a plus if you have gained experience in the political arena and/or have worked with energy related issues in the business community.You have a well-established network of contacts and it is of great importance that you are able to extend and develop your international contacts within the Vattenfall Group.You must be fluent in English.It will be a definite plus if you are able to communicate in German, Swedish or Polish too.We believe you are an outgoing and driving character that is a team player but also comfortable in having large own responsibilities.You have a wide perspective, good analytical skills and a have a well-developed ability to express complicated interactions in a straightforward and clear manner orally, in writing and in presentations.Further you like to work across big organizations, and understand how to communicate to different audiences.www.vattenfall.se/jobb
