Overview:
Full stack virtualization of the 5G NR CU and DU.
CRAN & DRAN configurations
COTS HW including L1 accelerators where needed
Cloud Native infrastructure based on ADP framework for SW based on micro-services and containers
Open interfaces (e.g F1, X2/Xn, A1, 01, LLS…)
Architecture for automation, AI and machine learning
Band support: Sub-6 & Mid-Band AAS to start with, High-Band in the future
Radio support: Potentially all Ericsson NR capable radios with the use of eCPRI or CPRI converter
Our CI/CD and System integration department plays a strategic role in making sure that the Cloud RAN solutions meet our customers’ expectations. Our mission is to:
Continuously improve quality assurance
from the HW up to the microservices
functionally (end-to-end features) and non-functionally (serviceability, performance, robustness)
By knowing and showing at any time
Quality indicators such as test coverage and pass rates
Fault slip-through analysis and improvements needed
Supporting the microservice teams to deliver
Microservices directly into any customer network configuration
As-a-Product for classic customers
Quickly and efficient by
Consulting and mentoring e2e teams in test and integration
Automating anything that can be automated
Providing test environments and tools just in time
Providing feedback that allows quick troubleshooting and resolution
Demonstrating and collaborating with NSV, DSI and CES
We are looking for a dynamic and creative team member to the NFVi Integration and Test Competence Centre.
Together with your team, you will:
Drive the implementation strategy for the NFVi test infrastructure to ensure efficient, just-in-time test environments for the PDGs, in close collaboration with SAN, DSI
Ensure the development, maintenance and tuning of the Cloud platforms and IaaS (Ericsson and 3PP) for the test channels throughout the CI/CD pipelines
Support troubleshooting for the PDGs
Interface to Reference Platforms and Deployment Configurations and the Cloud Infrastructure departments in Cloud RAN for both strategy and customer support
Interface to infrastructure providers’ support (e.g. Windriver, Openshift, ECCD, CEE, RedHat, Hyperscalers)
To be successful in the role you must have
Education: B.Sc./B.Eng in SW engineering or related field - or equivalent experience
Demonstrated ability of NFVi, working with build labs utilizing virtualization and cloud technology.
In depth knowledge of Linux OS: (RedHat, SuSe, Ubuntu)
Strong experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, OpenStack) in Telco context(products/solutions)
Strong experience in OS deployment using automation tools
Excellent K8s knowledge with in depth and documented hands-on installation, automation, config admin, deployment, troubleshooting on the following:
RedHat OpenShift (Certified)
WindRiver Cloud Platform (Certified)
Hyperscalers (Azure, GCP, AWS) (Certified)
Proven, hands-on Linux Admin (install, IPv4/IPv6, L1-3 OSI, conf, troubleshooting)
Strong scripting/programming knowledge (Python, Go)
Proven, hands-on system integration/verification skills, direct end Customer exposure in Customer projects is highly appreciated
Proven, hands-on Datacenter server equipment knowledge (Dell, HP) – Firmware upgrade, ilo, ovs, bios, NIC
Strong understanding + hands-on experience of configuration Routing(L3) and switching (L2)
Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains (applications, network, hardware).
Experience with Ericsson Datacenters in R&D context is considered a plus
Product development knowledge and Product Lifecycle Management knowledge
Demonstrated innovative mentality and business understanding
Collaborative phenomenal skills
Min years of experience: 5-10 years
