We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer that will help ensure that our products run effectively so that our clients can receive maximum value from Sinch’s products and services.
The essence of the role
Sinch is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen our IT Infrastructure team in Real Time Communications (RTC). Our mission is to develop, automate, maintain and operate our cloud infrastructure and adapt to ever changing business requirements., support our development and NOC teams while focusing on continuous delivery of service.
Your main responsibility will be to take ownership of one of the RTC products from an infrastructure and operational perspective. You will have one foot in operations and one foot in the development organization and cooperate with several other stakeholders within the company. You will be involved in and drive improvements in our full-scale global AWS environment and make sure that we design environments that align with AWS best practices, business requirements, high availability, security and customer interest. At the core, you will be hands-on with AWS and align with other stakeholders within and outside the team. You will be a key player in delivering world class services to our customers.
Today the team handles physical and virtual servers, networking, database-clusters and storage solutions for both our production and internal platforms. We are well underway of migrating the remaining on-premise footprint to the cloud.

As our new Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for:
Ownership of one of the RTC products from an infrastructure and operational perspective
Setting up infrastructure as code together with the developer teams
Driving and contributing to architectural discussions and decisions
Configuration and deployment
Monitors and dashboards for your product
Troubleshooting
Analyse dashboards, and take action
Monitor performance and scaling
Automation and scripting
24/7 on call (on a rotating schedule), being responsible for acting on and coordinating incidents
Who are you?
As our new Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will be working in a collaborative environment where everyone can learn from each other since everyone has a special expertise area, and being on call you can always count on support from your colleagues. That said, you enjoy working in a cooperative and cross-functional environment and are generous in providing support and sharing knowledge with your colleagues.
You have a general understanding of infrastructure and especially AWS, and you understand and can talk to engineers and developers. Maybe you are a developer with cloud experience wanting to work closer to operations or calling yourself DevOps feeling eager to work more with cloud engineering? Your responsibility and complexity of assignments will depend on your past experience and future ambitions.
To succeed in this role you need a developer mindset and enjoy working with operations and making sure everything is running as it is supposed to. We do not expect you to work with full scale coding, however you find it exciting to automate in order to be proactive - since you already know; stability and accessibility has never been as important.
In order to contribute in this role we believe you are good at:
AWS experience and/or certification
Knowledge of general infrastructure
Automation/coding, version control and continuous deployment practices
Containers and orchestration
Infrastructure as code (e. g. Terraform and Saltstack)
Coding skills, e.g. scripting and automation
Experience working with Linux
It’s a big plus!
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have:
Experience with monitoring tools, such as Datadog
Have developed back end
Experience from ELK or similar log management solutions
Prior experience in SIP, WebRTC, Kamailio or Asterisk
