Cloud RAN engineer

Job description
We are, on behalf of one of our customers in Stockholm, looking for candidates able to join a Team working with the Cloud environment.
A suitable candidate background could be a combination of experience from the Cloud environment with an education and or experience of Mobile-/Tele- communication engineering.
The assignment includes areas such as configuration of Servers, Linux and the environment for testing of Cloud based telecom network etc.
Support to developer/tester/test environment is part of the work covered by the assignment.
This is full-time assignment and start as soon as possible by agreement, ordering is 3-6 months at a time with planned extension.



Required competence
Experience in a Cloud environment and systems setup.
Linux, Docker Containers, Kubernetes deployment.
Experience in RAN technology



Wanted knowledge
Understanding of Embedded type of SW, on a COTS HW (COTS meaning x86, AMD, GPU or other HW, which can be deployed in a Cloud environment).
Understanding of Cloud Native Development Pipeline principles and tools – CI/CD (DevOps), Jenkins, Spinnaker is an asset.
Knowledge of the Linux ecosystem and able to use DPDK and smart Network Interface cards (smart NIC) to optimize the data processing path.
Knowledge of concepts like Docker containers, Kubernetes deployment, Helm charts and canary deployment.
Understanding of the basic principles, processes, phases, and roles of application development methodologies.
Knowledge in RAN, 5G NR and LTE 3GPP standards.
