Co-founder & Chief Animal Scientist

We are Animals.ai - an Agtech / impact start-up deeply specialized in AI and computer vision for use in agriculture. We have developed a digital "Farmers’ Eye" that can follow and collect data about animals in real-time to give the farmer a better understanding of their animals and their herd - and thus be able to make better decisions. We are now looking for an animal scientist with direct experience in dairy/beef production to bridge our AI engineers, our management, and our customers. We need you who are interested in product development, understand cows and farmers, and see opportunities where others only see challenges.

The candidate is responsible for conducting research and experiments to ‘identify and translate’ behavior patterns such as heat, stress, and domestic farm animals’ disease. Explores and performs research on the field validation of our behavior monitoring AI system.



What You Will Achieve
As part of the Product team, you will fully support the cattle behavior monitor program by providing research and communicational duties. Your hard work, innovative ideas, and focuses will help make Animals.ai ready to achieve new milestones and accelerate the 4.0 version of sustainable livestock farming!

Your responsibilities:

- Conduct research on top needs of farm animals monitoring
- Identify patterns & SOP of reproductive/health and wellbeing activities.
- Develop efficient ways to produce actionable insight out of video/audio animal monitoring data (the non-AI part).
- Communicate with test farms, farm management software customers to gather product feedback for R&D
- Investigate and analyze different farm management practices and lead benchmark studies.
- Monitor and build connections with academic Research projects in relevant fields
Your qualifications

- At least a Master’s degree in a related field (veterinary, animal science, etc.)
- Minimum 8 years of experience (Or 'unlimited' if you can prove your value to us!)
- Experience providing hands-on suggestions to domestic farm animals
- Working knowledge of regulations related to the care of animals in Nordic countries
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
- Open to learning by doing in an international environment.
- Experience with farm management systems/ robotics, i.e.(milking robots), is a plus.
- Knowledge/experience of precision livestock farming is a bonus.
