In these exciting times, we are now looking for a Com&In Digital Knowledge Modeler to join our IKEA knowledge graph product development team. The assignment of the IKEA knowledge graph product team is to formalize an explicit IKEA ontology of the knowledge we have at IKEA and make the knowledge consumable for all IKEA trademark users using modern integration solutions. The product team will create an infrastructure, allowing for the actual knowledge domain owners to model the graph themselves following both legal structures and internal IKEA governance principles and at source. This also implies that we can remove the integration and transformation layer. After that, we will distribute the knowledge to all retailers in high-performant and scalable way and where they are, which is +50 markets around the IKEA globe.
One of IKEA´s strengths is the understanding of our customer’s life at home, how we use home furnishing to solve these by using our unique product range. This combination of knowledge we have built and developed over 70+ years. Your job as Com&In Digital Knowledge Modeler is to work together with subject matter experts and model ontologies that represent the knowledge domain for home furnishing.
Home furnishing knowledge can range from color knowledge to complete home furnishing solutions for needs no matter how big or small. How does one plan the perfect sleeping solution? What solutions are best for small space? What types of products are best suitable when living with a baby? These are the types of knowledge areas that will be modelled in the graph.
It is essential that our Com&In Digital Knowledge Modeler brings both broad and deep knowledge of IKEA home furnishing and interior design. Experience with knowledge modelling is not a must, we will support with training in ontology modelling. However, it is important that you bring a strong interest for digitalization and a passion and drive to translate our unique IKEA knowledge into a digital format to benefit the many people You will be part of a team of experts passionate about technology who represents different knowledge domains.
As a Com&In Digital Knowledge Modeler you will:
Collaborate with subject matter experts in understanding and breaking down different home furnishing topics.
Define and build home furnishing knowledge taxonomies.
Model ontologies that represent various areas of home furnishing.
Define synonyms definitions for all concepts in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Identify opportunities to leverage concepts, ontologies already represented in the graph.
Ensure naming conventions are kept for all concepts and relations within the graph.
Collaborate with product teams and break down requirements to identify gaps in the ontology.
Collaborate with other digital knowledge modelers and ontologists to strategically connect ontologies.
This is a full time position (40h/weeks) that will initially be a two year employment with possibility to make permanent in the future.
The position will be located in Malmö/Sweden or Delft/The Netherlands. Business trips may be required in the future. Note that no relocation support is available for this position.
