Commercial Director, Volvo Defense

Volvo Defense is a Center of Excellence at the Volvo Group Headquarters that develops and executes the strategy for product and service offers for defense and civil protection customers.
The tailor made offers are developed in close collaboration with the Volvo branded business areas and truck divisions.


About the position
As Commercial Director your role will be to strengthen the Volvo Defense Team in the rapidly growing business and increasing volumes/deliveries. You will manage the demanding customer requirements and secure our ability to deliver products and services according to Volvo Group high quality and standards. Your responsibilities will be to lead commercial, tender and continuous improvement projects.
The Commercial Director´s responsibilities include:
Leading commercial, tender and continuous improvement projects cross functionally
Commercial tender responsible, assuring a competitive & compliant offer is created
Leading the internal tender process of a specific business opportunity as a “win team leader”
Pricing calculations
Identification of financial and commercial costs & risks
Negotiate terms and conditions
Assures contract compliance and export regulations, in cooperation with the Export Control function, Compliance office and Group Security



Who are we looking for?
Due to national security requirements you need to be a Swedish citizen. You have a relevant University degree combined with experience from a similar role related to the defense industry or governmental sales.
To be successful in this position you have proven project management skills with both an holistic view as well as attention to details under tight timeframes. You are analytical, proactive and solution oriented with a distinct business acumen that collaborates easily and create results through teamwork and a trustful dialogue but also being able to work independently. Communication and networking skills are important in this position. You have strong oral and written communication skills and you are fluent in Swedish and high proficiency in written and spoken English.
