Description
Do you see yourself taking a global role managing the aluminium foil supply base for the entire Tetra Pak Group?
The Tetra Pak Base Material organisation (BaseMat) strives to continuously adapt and improve our global base material supply chains (polymers, paperboard, aluminium foil and ink) in collaboration with our suppliers, converting factories and development organisations.
In this role you will be responsible to secure aluminium foil volumes required by Tetra Pak converting factories at the best possible commercial terms in accordance with the quality specifications set up by the technical BaseMat Foil team. You will manage supplier relationships worldwide and implement strategic plans.
The position is based in Lund and reports to the Commercial Director, Foil & Ink (in Lausanne). Approximately 25-30% of travelling worldwide (mostly Europe, Asia, especially China, and Brazil) is required.
Main responsibilities
- Manage the supplier base for Aluminium Foil.
- Contribute to development of the long-term strategy and implement it for
assigned suppliers.
- Negotiate competitive supply agreements and manage contract life cycle.
- Scout and develop new suppliers based on the material group strategy.
- Manage and direct business reviews with strategic suppliers through established metrics.
- Be responsible for cost reduction opportunities
- Be responsible for Crisis Management and coordination for volume re-allocation
Qualifications
As a person you have the ability to build sustainable relationships; you get well with a team, but can also deal with conflict and confrontation. You have strong influencing skills and experience in negotiations. The ability to work with numbers, quickly and under pressure, is essential, as well as an understanding of finance and business. We are looking for a proactive person, able to switch between detail and general, strategic orientation.
We believe you have a University Degree with a technical (engineering or science) background, preferably within metallurgy. Experience in commodities markets is an advantage as well as metal/aluminium industry experience. You have a proven track record of successful development and maintenance of supplier relationships internationally. You must be fluent in both written and spoken English. Fluent Chinese is a distinct advantage.
