The Team
The Global Car Offer team is responsible for representing all the commercial aspects relating to development and launch of new cars and the management of our existing cars.
Commercial product leads work as one of the 3 main leads within a car or lifecycle program – working alongside the Vehicle Product Owner and Technical Product Lead on the development of the car.
They are responsible for all commercial aspects relating to the development of a new car or the lifecycle management of an existing car and they represent all commercial areas across Volvo cars - within the car project management team.
They ensure that commercial consequences of all decisions relating to the vehicle are considered, they work with commercial regions to ensure regional configurations and nuances are catered for and take responsibility for the P&L of the vehicle. Commercial leads are expected to know/understand all the details, features, customer promises for their specific car for ALL markets. They understand the volume opportunities, the target market and the key price points required.
Detailed responsibilities include:
Vehicle development
• Take full accountability for the global and regional commercial success of the vehicle
• Full ownerships for the vehicle P&L including both car and non-car elements
• Secures global product offer, pricing and revenue equation across all channels and regions
• Alignment with regions on total volume potential for respective car + ensuring this input is captured in cycle and volume planning
• Lead commercial core team and represent all commercial areas within car project management team
• Ensure regional input on vehicle requirements is reflected within programs/car feature development
• Work with regions to align vehicle specifications that balance manufacturing complexity with profit maximization
• Ensure that all decisions taken with respect to the vehicle, commercial considerations are both articulated and balanced
• Work with both commercial and technical training departments to ensure adequate training provided to both sales and technical staff within retailers
Vehicle Launch
• Take responsibility for the co-ordination of all commercial activities with regards to launch including
o Order capture + launch specification strategy
o Online strategy + messaging
o Marketing plans (globally)
o Global reveal activities including press drives and events
o Ensuring pre-production vehicles are available to key stakeholders + regional commercial teams for launch and education activities
• Align with global pricing and regions on pricing strategy and launch prices linked to volume ambitions

Qualifications:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5 years work experience

Location: Gothenburg-Hybrid of course.
