Commissioning Manager

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Commissioning Manager to join our passionate team in Skellefteå.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Commissioning Manager will be in charge of the production equipment startup. As leader in commissioning you will have the opportunity to coordinate a competent and dependable team from multiple departments, capable of scaling Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond. You will be in charge of building and executing the long term commissioning plan reporting to the Sr. Director of Commissioning.

The unit will primarily support the Program and Production teams to start all production lines.

In general you have a long experience in the field and have been driving large, innovative and challenging commissioning projects with high demands on delivery schedule.

Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with multiple teams as well as matrixed organizations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Develop the detailed Commissioning planning for the assigned area, and associated supporting automation equipment

Develop the Commissioning planning, structure, and all other necessary project events to support turnover process to the Manufacturing team

Develop the Commissioning schedule for the scope to be integrated into the overarching NV project plan, integrating NV equipment vendor, 3rd parties or internal NV groups as required

Drive the day-to-day execution, tracking, control and performance of Commissioning of the assigned area

Monitor and control of completion and Commissioning at site, reporting KPIs and progress as required by NV to ensure delivery of the scope

We believe that you:

- Have a degree in Project Management/MSc or MBA/Relevant University Degree or relevant experience
- 10+ years working experience in Commissioning, Program Management, or Project Management
- Track record of successful project achievements
- Successful track record of scaling large equipment startups in a fast growing environment ideally in the manufacturing or energy industry
- Curious, technically educated and with a strong business background
- Must have worked in multi-cultural environment
- Enjoy launching new projects and seeing a factory go live!

Bonus points for:

- Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
- Startup experience within a new industry
- Green and/or Brown field project experience
