SUMMARY:
The Commissioning Process Lead is responsible for supervising all commissioning testing activities performed on equipment and installations by the contractor’s trades resources. While managing all control and automation related commissioning activities, the individual will also enforce personal safety and apply additional caution when commissioning testing overlap with site construction and operations.
Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Commissioning Process Lead is responsible for the full ownership of a specific function of the project scope and will lead this function from planning, through construction completing, commissioning and successful handover of the function to Project Owner.
JOB DUTIES:
-Applying project safety management systems during commissioning activities, adapting them to the specific needs and any unique risks
-Health, safety and environmental performance for all personnel and facilities under their control during commissioning
-Managing commissioning functional team during testing including:
-Leading daily coordination meetings as required
-Managing and updating the work completion list
-Ensuring (and participating where possible) in turnover/handover walkdowns for their respective functions
-Assisting Commissioning Manager to hand over the commissioned equipment and system in satisfactory condition to Project Owner, along with appropriate documentation
-Coordinating vendor representative activities
-Monitoring safety isolation and tagging procedures, for personal safety and for protection of plant equipment during plant commissioning activities
-Safe and timely execution of all commissioning activities and integration of these activities with both project and owner’s team
-Coordinating with home office engineering to ensure that testing requirements are included in the design (for example, bypass lines, temporary power and water, module isolation valves)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
● Degree or equivalent in Engineering
● Strong Leadership skills and the ability to lead a complex team, made up of project engineers, equipment vendors, suppliers, operations and maintenance personnel.
● Working knowledge of MS office suite
● Effective Report writing skills
● Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
● Planning and organization skills
● Ability to fit into a team environment
● Able to communicate directly with the Client on key issues
