Commodity Buyer and Global Segment Leader for Travel & HR Services

Position Description

If the answers are yes, then you may be the right person for this job within the Travel and Human Resource Services team in Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing.


Our team are located in both in Gothenburg and Lyon and we are responsible for purchase of Travel and Human Resource Services. Here is where you come into the picture to take care of Translations, Financial Services, Payroll & Recruitment, Complementary HR and Health & Wellbeing.


You, our hopefully soon to be new colleague, will work in a truly global team and have a purchasing responsibility focusing on areas such as:
Defining the segment to support Volvo’s strategic growth and sustainable objectives
Driving synergies and leveraging the supplier base focusing on quality, capacity, cost, technology, features and sustainability
Negotiating and securing competitive and service-oriented agreements
Developing best in class purchasing processes and solutions
You will also drive continuous improvement within the segment in coordination with our stakeholder’s departments

In other words, you will strengthen Volvo Group’s competitive advantage by understanding and tackling the commercial needs to support our journey.

Besides that, you should have:
Experience working with commercial topics in a preferably global environment
High level of negotiation and problem-solving skills
Analytical and financial skills
Strong and effective communication
An open and entrepreneurial mind-set
Fluency in English
University degree in Business or Technology related fields
