Manufacturing Engineer for Cockpit, Seat & Restrains

Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering (VCME). We prepare and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants. Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions.

As Manufacturing Engineer for Cockpit, Seat & Restrains you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as lead and coordinate activities within area of responsibility. Represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phase within their own commodity area within Volvo Cars. Ensure product and process feedback to Research & Development (R&D) in order to fulfil the "six manufacturing attributes": quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over. You will also assure flawless introduction of car programs into our plants and continuously strive for commonality within Volvo Cars plants. Also, upon request, support Core or IE, when expertise competence is needed.

Main responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate the manufacturing process within R&D
* Represent Manufacturing Engineering (ME) as well as within ME and R&D
* Ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs (AVB)
* Drive and follow-up "six manufacturing attributes" within area of responsibility
* Create and upgrade instruction (PII)
* Report DPA5 checklist status, product OK/NOK according to ME requirement
* Input/feedback of ME requirement to Core
* Give input to the summary and report gate / milestone answers within the area
* Report status and deviations in decided systems/ tools and ensure that there are actions
* Follow-up of cost within responsible area, man hour cost and investment cost

Required qualifications

* Technical competence at senior high school
* Practical experience of production process
* Knowledge about processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* FMEA & DFA knowledge are Meritorious
* BS.C is meritorious

Personal qualities

* Communication and collaboration skills
* Good team player with a positive and pro-active attitude
* Target oriented with good analytic abilities
* Ability to organize and prioritise own work
* Strong ability for cross functional and multicultural teamwork
