The department Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is developing and implementing quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants. Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production efficient product solutions.

We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team within the Commodity Manufacturing Engineer department. You will be leading the cross-technical product and production manufacturing work as well as represent Manufacturing in the preparation and implementation phase with the commodity and plants. This includes ensuring product and process feedback to R&D in order to fulfil the manufacturing attributes for quality, cost efficiency, environment and flexibility. You will also lead and coordinate manufacturing process activities within R&D design responsibility area and develop efficient and ergonomic assembly methods as well as describe and visualise assembly and control methods in building instructions for all plants.

Main responsibilities

* Assure flawless introduction of car programs into our plants
* Analyse and verify the manufacturing requirements virtually and physically
* Deliver Manufacturing Approval and impact assessments on changes for each delivery unit
* Initiate and perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
* Upon request, support other manufacturing areas
* Continuously strive for commonality within Volvo Cars plants

Required qualifications

* University degree in manufacturing engineering
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Practical experience of production processes is an advantage
* Knowledge in FMEA and DFA is desirable
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D is meritorious
* Knowledge in Team Center is meritorious
