In this role you will be a part of an exciting journey building up the new battery plant together with our tooling department and other Manufacturing engineers. You will have a focus on introducing and verifying our new product and process. 

Your main responsibility will be the propulsion area within manufacturing where your main production area will be our upcoming highly automated battery plant. 

What you will do!
As Commodity Manufacturing Engineer within the team in VCT plant you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work and represent manufacturing engineering during launch phase.  Your main tasks will be too proactively assuring a flawless introduction of car programs into our plants. You will lead and coordinate the process activities within the defined area of responsibility and continuously strive for commonality within the Volvo Cars plants. 
You will be a part of the RFQ process, analyse needs and issues, verify the manufacturing requirements physically and secure that deviations are being solved. You will give input on status and deviations in decided systems/tools for sum up of gateways and milestones. On request, perform consequence judgments on proposed changes.

Our team consists of 10 talented people located in the Torslanda plant in Gothenburg.   

Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a positive and proactive team player who has a strong ability for cross-functional and multi-cultural teamwork. Since you have many interfaces within the company, you have good communication and networking skills.
You have high analytic abilities and the ability to organize and prioritize among your work tasks. To fully enjoy the job, you are target-oriented and can handle a rapidly changing environment and work task. 
We believe you have a BCs or MSc within Mechanical/automation area preferably together with practical experience of automated production processes. 
It is meritorious to have experience from automated welding processes and quality assurance of such a process and product, simulation experience and wet application experience. You do also have a good understanding of Electrical components and the ability to interpret electrical schematics. We also believe you have good understanding of geometry and the ability to interpretant drawings and understand geometrical tolerance chains.
You need to have driver’s license and be fluent in English, spoken and written. You are open and willing to travel at times. Further, you are motivated by learning new things and growing together with us. 
It is meritorious if you have knowledge about FMEA & TCE and processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D. If you have skills in Product Development, preferably in automotive industry together with 6 Sigma it is an advantage.
