Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering VCME.

We develop and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants.

Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions.


Within Commodity Manufacturing Engineering Powertrain Installation, we are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer, situated in Sweden, Torslanda. The role contains several travel days per year due to participation in launches of our vehicle programs in VCC's different plants.


Main Responsibilities:
. Lead and coordinates manufacturing process activities in PD within responsibility area.
. Describe and visualizes assembly methods and issue PII:s (Process and Inspection Instruction) in TCe(virtual builds) and PPA(physical builds).
. Develops efficient (man hour & layout) and ergonomic work methods. Update of local manufacturing engineering systems and inputs to steering system for production control.
. Plans in detail, specifies functions and needs for equipment in cooperation with Tooling.
. Identifies needs of new error proofing/quality assurance 'systems' or update existing.
. Reporting status and deviations in decided systems / tools and ensure that there are actions plans to reach target.


Competence Requirements:
. Technical competence at senior high school / university level or similar.
. Minimum 3 years work experience as a unit engineer or manufacturing engineer.
. Practical experience of the production process.
. English in spoken and written.
. High knowledge of process and methods at VCC manufacturing and R&D.
. Knowledge of relevant manufacturing IT tools.
