Commodity Manufacturing Engineer - Interior

Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering VCME. We prepare and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants. Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating manufacturing engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions.
Within Commodity Manufacturing Engineering, we are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for Cockpit, Seat & Restrains. In this role you will assure flawless introduction of car programs into our plants, lead and coordinate activities within area of responsibility as well as continuously strive for commonality within VCC plants. As a manufacturing engineer you will also support involved parties, when expert competence is needed, lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phase within their own commodity area within VCC. This means ensuring product and process feedback to Research & Development (R&D) in order to fulfill the "six manufacturing attributes" (quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over).
Main responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the manufacturing process within Research & Development
* Represents Manufacturing Engineering (ME) as well as within ME and Research & Development
* Ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs (AVB)
* Drives and follow-up "six manufacturing attributes" within area of responsibility
* Create and upgrade instruction (PII)
* Responsible for Input/feedback of ME requirements to involved parties
* Give input to the summary and report gate / milestone answers within the area
* Reporting status and deviations in decided systems/ tools and ensure follow-up actions
* Follow-up of cost within responsible area
Required qualifications
* Technical competence at senior high school or university level is desirable
* Practical experience of the production process
* Fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written
* FMEA & DFA knowledge is desired
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D is meritorious
