Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
At Purchasing, we are supporting this journey by making sure we are continuously working with suppliers that are best in class in their field including cost, quality, delivery and sustainability. We are now looking at extending our team with one more member.

Who we are
We are a diverse team consisting of seven team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities and with experience stretching between 1 and 25 years within the company. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting and challenging each other to find best solutions for Scania. Forming a climate where competence as well as opinions are openly shared is important for us.
Responsibilities
In this role as a Commodity Purchaser, or Sourcing Manager as we call it, you will be responsible for Flexible steel pipes and part of our Aftertreatment Systems. For these products you will;
• set and develop the supplier base including strategies that you align cross-functionally within Scania as well as with the Traton group.
• be responsible for meeting targets for cost-saving, delivery precision and sustainability to mention a few.
• be part of the so called 3-ring together with colleagues from project purchasing and supplier quality. As commodity purchaser, you are responsible to lead and develop the work within this constellation.
Your profile
You are a person with a great commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple tasks in parallel. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing internally as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team
To succeed in this role we see that you have an academic degree in engineering, business or similar. You also have experience from automotive purchasing, or other relevant background within Scania or externally. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage, fluent in spoken and written English is a requirement.
