Our team - Commodity Electronics
We are responsible for procuring and maintaining supplies of electronics components for our present and upcoming vehicle generations. The development of electrical components for Scania products is running fast and requirements both on the products and our suppliers are increasing.
To keep up with the increase we are growing and looking for a new purchaser to become part of our team.
We are a diverse team with lots of experience within purchasing and electronics who enjoy working closely together. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-function and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania. Our team has different backgrounds, competencies and skills. Responsibilities
In your daily work you will negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, coordinate, plan and follow-up activities closely with purchasing, production and R&D colleagues. You will work with product cost optimization and perform strategic nominations of new business together with your project purchasing colleagues as well as working to align and improve processes within the area of Electronics and cable harness.
In your new role you will also:
• Be accountable for the strategies and targets within one of Scania purchasing’s most important segments.
• Be responsible for complex parts, the latest technologies which have a high turnover and great cost improvement opportunities.
• You will work in a team of quality managers and project purchasers where you will support and align activities to ensure that the strategies are implemented.
• Work closely with other functions at Scania, such as R&D and Production.
• Have the opportunity to learn from experienced purchasers and support new colleagues at Scania Purchasing.
Your profile
For all positions we hope you have an academic degree in industrial engineering, economics or comparable. As the role involves communication with global suppliers, you should be able to travel occasionally, are fluent in writing and speaking English. Other language skills are an advantage. You have a strong commercial mindset, technical interest and like to build relations and succeed in negotiations. You enjoy working in a team towards a common goal and being a representative of Purchasing towards internal functions and suppliers. You are self-driven, ambitious and make your department reach set business goals.
