Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Who we are


The Purchasing team, Cab & Electronics, purchases parts, components, all the automotive fluids, paint and process materials used in Scania trucks and buses manufactured in our global production system. We are working in an international environment and collaborating with our colleagues in the Volkswagen and Traton Group. Therefore we are searching for two sourcing managers, who are committed, collaborative team member and has the desire to drive the shift together with our team.

The team

The Cab & Electronics team has great people, an open atmosphere, good knowledge transfer, and always helps each other out. The group consists of purchasers with different backgrounds, nationalities, genders, and experiences. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-functions and always try to find the best solutions for Scania. We feel motivated by delivering on and beyond our commitments and want to be seen as a reliable partner. We strive for a climate where opinions and knowledge is openly shared within the team and learning is continuous. 

Reponsibilities

In your role as sourcing manager you will be responsible for defining the supplier base, setting strategies for material groups and aligning the strategies cross functionally and within the Traton group. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and continuously manage potentials and risks within the supplier base. As sourcing manager, you are also responsible for creating business plan activities and deliver on those ensuring that we reach our targets for the team and department. As part of your job description you will also work with potentially delivery disturbances and other kinds of deviations. At Scania we always strive for continuous improvements and this will also be expected from you in your role as sourcing manager. It will be expected that you take initiatives within your area of responsibility to drive improvements in for example collaboration and way of working.  

Your profile

You are a person who likes to take the lead in working with others. You are proactive, structured, organized, flexible, take your own initiatives, are able to handle multiple open cases, have a strong commercial interest, and like to work with supplier relationship management and succeed in negotiations. You also have a strong technical and production process knowledge. You have at least 3 years of purchasing experience, are ready to take on a more complex role with a strategic mindset, and share your knowledge with others.
As the role involves a large international network, you are fluent in writing and speaking English. You like to work with cross functions and represent Purchasing in a way where we are a respected partner which delivers as promised and according to targets in a professional way. Your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate and build trust and are clear in your communication with others. You should have high integrity with good judgment and can adapt to work according to Scania’s company culture.
