Communication Manager

Within Corporate Communication, the Content & Activation team works with planning, producing and managing communication initiatives towards all Volvo Group’s corporate stakeholders, utilizing dialogue in a multitude of channels. We deliver on plans but are equally ready to capture opportunities that arise with short notice, as this reflects our view of the modern communication landscape. Our team members have different professional and educational backgrounds but share the same passion to create communication that sparks a dialogue and moves the needle. We are now looking to welcome a new Communication Manager to the team.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Communication Manager you will bring Volvo Group’s communication agenda to life. Together with your team colleagues and in close collaboration with senior business leaders, public affairs experts, investor relations representatives and more, you will deliver relevant and engaging content where our business agenda aligns with our global stakeholders’ interests. The role requires good judgement and integrity, solid communication knowledge and skills, balancing a holistic mindset with hands-on tasks— and last but not least a digital savvy profile.
You will report to the Director Strategic Communication.
WHO WE THINK YOU ARE
You have a solid foundation in communication, truly excellent writing skills, and a passion for communication in the digital world. You have a strong personal drive and deliver results while being able to balance stakeholder interests.
Main activities and responsibilities:
Develop and publish content in relevant channels. Engage in dialogue. Measure the outcome and take responsibility for adjusting to the results
Produce and coordinate communication content, messages and activities for Group-wide projects and initiatives
Analyze business insights about stakeholder groups and define audiences
Plan and drive communication campaigns: in-house and with agencies
Collaborate within the team, with other Volvo Group colleagues and with external partners
Develop, evaluate and continuously improve work processes and collaborations within the area of responsibilities
Experience and Education:
Experience in the planning, production and distribution/publication of editorial content, with a focus on digital channels
Experience managing projects with external and internal stakeholders, preferably in a multi-market/language set up
Background and experience working in an agile and iterative environment, proactively driving a communication agenda
Knowledge in user journey mapping methodology
Academic degree / journalism / marketing / pr / media /communication /business or similar
+3 years relevant experience
Key competencies:
Broad understanding of the media and communication landscape, with a special interest in digital channels
Clear interest in and understanding of business issues and ability to translate them into communication objectives and actions
Solid track record of delivering for various communication carriers and channels; texts, presentations, imagery, film, social media etc.
The ability to understand and balance stakeholder requirements and needs
Full professional proficiency in English
