About the position
Perido is looking for a Communication Officer to our client, an independent and important agency of the European Union. The mission of this agency is to strengthen Europe’s defenses against infectious diseases and identify, assess, and communicate current and emerging threats to human health posed by infectious diseases. The position is placed at their office which is nicely located just outside of Stockholm city. After an introduction at the agency’s premises the work can proceed mainly from home due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. A step-by-step return to work can be expected in spring.
Your daily tasks
In this role you will be working in the Communication section under supervision of the Head of Section Communication. This section aims at strengthening European capacities, knowledge and cooperation in communicable diseases prevention and control, in a way that is complementary to the other activities of the Centre. More specifically, you will be involved in following tasks:
Development, implementation, and monitoring of communication strategy and communication plans.
Planning, editing and production of content for a variety of internal and external communication channels (intranet, web portal, social media, newsletters, face-to-face and virtual meetings).
Communication advice and support.
Stakeholder and networks outreach and engagement.
Organisation of physical and digital events and campaigns.
Proactive media work, including monitoring and analysis of traditional and social media.
Assist project management of specific communication activities, including assisting with procurement.
Other activities assigned to the Communication team and any other tasks related to your area of work as needed.
Your qualifications
In order to be successful in this role, you need to have an excellent ability to communicate efficiently at all levels, internally and externally, in an appropriate manner. You also need to have excellent knowledge of how the media works and hands-on experience of conducting media relations. Moreover, you have a high capacity to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, excellent planning and organisational skills, and an eminent ability to work in a team. Last but not least, we believe that you have a great ability to synthesize and analyze complex information and convert this into a format that is comprehensible for non-technical audiences. With a strong service minded approach and focus on delivering high-quality work, we know that you will succeed in your role!

Requirements
Education at university level, preferably in the area of communication.
Excellent experience of communicating with the general public.
Work experience from an international/multicultural environment.
Thorough knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written English.
Contract type and hours
Full time assignment. Start as soon as possible, duration 3 months with possible extension.
