We’re now looking for a Communication Specialist, a dedicated team player who wants to be part of building something new and thrive in breaking new ground in a digital arena. This is a unique opportunity to join SMF on an exciting journey where communication plays a central part in succeeding with the business strategy. As the SMF Communication function is new, you take part in developing the way of working with communications within SMF and you have a great opportunity to shape your own role.

Your mission
In this position you will be part of a small team who provide strategic and operative communication support to our business and organization, creating a good understanding of the business direction, priorities, objectives, vision and core values. You develop, plan, manage and execute communications activities across SMF, supporting the whole spectrum of communication – from editorial, channel management, change- and crisis communication, acquisitions, management support, events and communication training. You will also take part in and support communication initiatives spanning across the Sandvik Group.
The communication team will cover both the business area segment, as well as supporting our divisions in key activities working closely with the management teams. You work to leverage stakeholder commitment and engagement through excellent communication planning and activities. You capture communication needs in the organization and decide how to handle it in the best way, analyze the target groups, and adapt the messages accordingly.
You report to the Vice President and Head of Communication at SMF. This position allows for work in either Sandviken or Stockholm and some flexibility is required to support our global organization within its different time zones.

Your character
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent, combined with adequate work experience. You have several years' experience in corporate communication such as internal, change and strategy communication, and past involvement in a global company working with strategic and operative communication.
Complementing this, you also have practical knowledge of creating engaging presentations and events. You’re able to coach others in the fundamentals of verbal presentations, message formulations and providing constructive feedback. Mastering digital tools, in particular SharePoint, PowerPoint and Office 365 or identical programs is a requirement for this position. Working in a global environment like this one calls for fluency in English and Swedish, in both written and verbal form.
You’re a curious and humble team player and an efficient communicator who has solid networking skills, with the drive and interest to get to know the business and organization. For you, teamwork is key and you’re able to take your own initiatives but still with a collaborative mindset. You have a good understanding of stakeholder needs, work with a high degree of integrity and know how to handle confidential information.
