Join our international non-profit research organization and help bridge environment and development science to policy and practice. Stockholm Environment Institute is a world-leading research institute in its field. We are a dynamic and expanding workplace that employs around 110 people from 28 different nationalities in an activity-based HQ office in central Stockholm (Garnisonen). We have an additional 200 employees in seven centres around the world.
The role
SEI is looking for a supporting Communications Assistant to join the team at HQ in Stockholm. This role will support outreach and project coordination, including writing news stories, change stories and blogs about research results, social media posting, videos/podcasts with project stakeholders.
In addition to the responsibilities described above, this person will work closely with the team AgriFoSe2030 to support projects within the programme to apply existing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) tools.
Key duties and responsibilities
Developing and editing of publication material, communications products and web content in collaboration with the C&E team and project teams.
Supporting AgriFoSe2030 projects in evaluating their progress and help them apply existing MEL tools.
Organising, as well as supporting the design and implementation of project workshops, and other events, in-person and online.
Supporting in media outreach in target regions of projects.
Ideal skills, interests and background
Masters in communication or other relevant field
Interest and/or experience in agriculture, food systems and sustainability, preferably in low-income regions.
Experience working in international, multi-disciplinary project teams
You will need to have hands-on experience of communication work such as writing for the web, including social media, text, photo and video editing.
You have an excellent command of the English language for speaking, writing, reading and understanding.
A good command of Swedish is a plus but is not a strict requirement.
