Communications Manager

Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a world leading manufacturer of high value-added products in stainless steel materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials and process systems.The product areas comprise Tube, Strip, Wire and Heating Technology, Process Systems and MedTech.Product Area (PA) MedTech, a part of Sandvik Materials Technology, is a leading manufacturer of medical implants and developer of advanced alloys for the medical industry.As part of our ambition to consolidate the business within the medical area, we are now looking for a Communications Manager to develop and drive the internal communications within the PA.The Communications Manager will report to the head of the PA and be part of the PA management team. Key performance areas As Communications Manager, you will manage as well as encourage and enhance the quality of the internal communications activities within the PA.You will be responsible for ensuring that communication supports PA MedTech?s business strategy and goals, as well as following policies and guidelines for communication. Primary responsibilities are: - Raise communication issues in the management team, and give the management support in formulating messages to the organization - Prioritize and use different communication channels for the messages.Define, plan and perform defined communication activities - Be responsible for the content on the intranet - Coordinate the information activities and information sharing with other communication managers within the organization - Establish and/or actively participate in relevant networks - Establish and maintain a feed-back process for communication and ensure that the feed-back is listened to - Act as an internal editor ?report activities within the organization, so the organization can share the efforts Your profile We are looking for someone with education and/or skills in communication or journalism.Proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing, and good skills in the Microsoft Office package, Lotus Notes and Adobe Acrobat Professional are required.Skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign are also desirable.You have good knowledge about, and experience in working with, the intranet kit.Knowledge of the rhetorical foundation of speeches is also necessary, as you will support the management in writing speeches.You are able to perform presentations, have a good knowledge about organization theories and structure and are able to cooperate with external resources such as copy-writers, printing houses, photographers and advertising agencies. Annual sales 2009 were about SEK 15,300 M with 8,200 employees.
