Marketing & Communications is a global function that consist of 450 employees at the Head Office in Stockholm. We support all 75 markets around the world. The department has the responsibility to build the H&M brand, internally and externally: specifically, when it comes to brand awareness, attraction and loyalty. The department constantly drives change making sure that H&M’s communication is customer oriented, relevant, and aligned with our brand DNA.
Job Description
As a Communications Specialist/Press officer you will contribute to strengthen, develop and protect the H&M brand in a trustworthy way. You will collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure a consistent communication strategy and messages as well as developing relationships with relevant key media and other stakeholders. It is essential to work proactively with other functions for press events, producing press releases, messages and relevant news stories to specific target groups. You are able to work reactively to identify potential and active crisis situations while working closely with local teams. You will report to the Global Head of Media Relations.
Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategically plan, support and lead proactive and reactive communication
Produce press releases, messages and pitch relevant news and stories to media
Arrange press events in collaboration with other functions
Be part of the 24/7 press duty rota and act as a spokesperson when needed
Prepare, support and train spokespeople before interviews, at press events or other relevant forums
Support local and regional communications teams with proactive and reactive communication
Follow up and evaluation
Qualifications

In order to be a successful Communications Specialist/Press officer, we also think that you have/are:
Formal higher education within Communications, Journalism and/or Marketing (or equivalent)
Extended experience working with media relations, as a journalist or at a PR agency
Experience from working with communication in a global company
Experience in crisis communications
Fluent in English, spoken and written
Strong accuracy, attention to detail and planning skills
Result-oriented with an ability to communicate a vision and strategy, prioritize and take decisions.
Constantly want to improve, have analytical skills and the ability to know what makes a difference to build trust
Communicative with a passion for the written language and the capability to simplify complexity
